Lindsay Penelope Sloan (B.A., Texas A&M University, 1998; M.A., Texas A&M University, 2001). Lindsay's three general areas of interest are rhetoric, poetics, and creative non-fiction. Specifically, she is interested in the metaphors authors invoke to describe their "writing self" in narratives of literary genesis (prose by professional writers about the writing process). The tentative title for her dissertation is "Strange Rhetoric: Creative Nonfiction and Concepts of the Writing Self." She has taught composition, technical writing, and literature on the undergraduate level as well as a graduate course in business communications at the Mays School of Business MBA Program at Texas A&M University. Her poetry has appeared in Texas Poetry Journal, Cranky, Gulf Coast, and The Dos Passos Review.
