Brazos Valley Reads
Brazos Valley Reads is a community effort organized by Texas A&M University’s English department with extensive support from various groups in the university and the community that was started to encourage bridge building between Texas A&M’s students and staff and the Brazos community at large. For the past four years, BVR has invited internationally recognized authors such as Ernest Gaines, Sandra Cisneros, Gish Jen and Tim O'Brien to College Station/Bryan for a literary event and to meet with local high school students.
How To Get Involved
Angie Cruz, assistant professor of English and coordinator for Brazos Valley Reads, encourages individuals and groups to read the book and discuss it ahead of time. She also welcomes inquiries and requests for members of the English department to meet with reading groups to facilitate discussion. All such inquiries should be directed to Angie Cruz at the English Department at bvr@english.tamu.edu.
