Areas of Interest:
Dr. O'Farrell's areas of interest include nineteenth-century British literature, the novel, history and discourses of the body, literary and cultural theory, and popular culture. Her current research on Jane Austen in the cultural imagination also involves considering the persistence of manners as objects of literary and cultural attention. She has served as organizer of the New Modern British Studies Working Group since 2001.
