Larry Oliver is Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. He received his PhD in English, minoring in American Studies, from Pennsylvania State University in 1981. He joined the Texas A&M English Department in 1984. His major teaching and research interests are American literature 1880-1920; African American literature; and American ethnic literature. He is the author or editor of three books: Brander Matthews, Theodore Roosevelt and the Politics Of American Literature, 1880-1920 (Univ. of Tennessee Press, 1992) Editor, The Letters of Theodore Roosevelt and Brander Matthews (University of Tennessee Press, 1995)Coeditor (with Kenneth M. Price), Critical Essays on James Weldon Johnson (Twayne/Macmillan, 1997). His articles have appeared in such journals as AMERICAN LITERATURE, AMERICAN LITERARY HISTORY, AMERICAN QUARTERLY, AMERICAN LITERARY REALISM, AMERICAN STUDIES, and NINETEENTH-CENTURY LITERATURE. | ||
