What privileges, resources, and opportunities does a Fellow receive?
With the support of Fellows faculty advisors, the Honors Programs Office sets high expectations for Fellows. These expectations are reemphasized at every opportunity. The Fellows program is marketed as an opportunity to “test-drive” graduate school. Fellows are accordingly treated as if they were in fact graduate students and receive some of the same privileges. Each Fellows also receives Fellows distinction at graduation and on his transcript. Other privileges include the following:
- Graduation with honors
- Fellows distinction at graduation and on transcript
- Award at the Honors recognition ceremony
- Graduate library privileges
- Study carrel (with approval through the Honors office)
- $300 research budget
- Guidance and advising from OHPAS staff
- ENGL 301 – Technical Writing course opportunity targeted at Fellows
- Support from Fellows thesis clerk
- Supplemental funding opportunities
- Sigma XI
- Glasscock Center undergraduate research awards
- Honors-managed Glasscock support
- College and departmental resources
- External agencies
- Honors incentive awards ($1000.00)
- Must apply for Academic Excellence Award through financial aid. The Honors Incentive Award is awarded along with this award for a possible total of $2000.
