Grade
Your technical writing grade will count 50 out of 750 points (approximately 6.7 percent) toward your physics grade.

Attendance
1. In order to benefit from instruction on completing the required lab reports, you are expected to attend class regularly and to actively participate. (You will record you attendance at every class meeting.) The time you are required to spend in the lab has been reduced in order to accommodate the time you will spend at technical writing sessions.


2. You are expected to attend one of the two technical writing sessions each week. Classes meet in 200 Heldenfels from 6:00-7:30 Mondays and Wednesday evenings. Check the syllabus for which weeks we have technical writing sessions (some weeks we will not meet). Your attendance at class meetings counts 30 percent of your technical writing grade. Your attendance score will be based on how many sessions you attend. See below.

3. You are expected to be in class on time. (Chronic tardiness constitutes disruptive classroom behavior and is subject to Rule #21 of the Student Rules publication.)

4. If you miss an evening writing   session, you are responsible for getting materials and instruction from your instructor. Contact her during her office hours or by e-mail.


Assignment Preparation

1. Prepare all assignments according to instructions given regarding content, format, organization, and style.

2. Assume full responsibility for the content, format, organization, and style.

Assignment Submission

1. You must submit all papers according to the guidelines given by the instructor.

2. You must submit all papers by the deadlines given by the instructor. (Late papers will be penalized one letter grade for each day they are late. Proof of a university-excused absence will be required in order to submit a late paper without penalty.)

3. If you have a valid university-excused absence (see Student Rules publication), you are responsible for completing and submitting all required work within two days of your return.


University Writing Center

The University Writing Center is a free resource for students needing consultation at any stage of the writing process. It is open 5 days a week. Services rang from one-on one tutorial sessions to computer-based invention and writing developmental programs. For more information about he UWC, see their web site at http://uwc@tamu.edu.
