I return to drink deeply
the water that I've thirsted for.
The water that flows freely
from Earth.
Cool and sweet.
The land that spurn me.
The land I broke through
and at times needed to
break from.
This is the home
my roots suckled from.
When I return
it spins me into beauty.
I bury my feet deep
in its heart.
It revitalizes.
It absorbs
my weariness,
my pains.
Gives me Life.
I want to rap my arms
around it.
Embrace it as it does me.
The breeze that feathers me,
gentle,
clean,
pure.
I could take flight.
The sounds that calms me
Drive deep into my heart,
my soul,
my essence.
Bringing me to rest.
The melodies,
Love songs from my land.
The words that float from the depths
of ancient people.
When I go Home
The feel of my people.
Their hands in mine.
Arms enfolding me.
Lips upon my cheeks.
The smell of their warmth.
Their voices caress me.
Mi alma esta con ellos
En Mi Tierra.*
* I return to my land to have life.
* My soul is with them in My Land.
