We ask reviewers for Seventeenth-Century News to provide an accurate, balanced description of the contents relevant to our audience (i.e. seventeenth-century specialists) and its method of treatment, together with a critical evaluation of its significance. Normally, reviews are about 1000 words long (no longer than 1500 words). Send the text in a Word or Rich Text Format to scn@tamu.edu. Reviews should be proofread carefully since galley proofs will not be sent to reviewers.

In general Seventeenth-Century News follows the rules of style as set forth by the Modern Language Association. Please use double-spacing for the header and the text. We include page references for all quotations from the book being used in parenthesis without "p." or "pp." Footnotes cannot be included in reviews. For the header, please adapt the following format:

Jane Doe. Title of the Book. Place: University Press, 2010. x + 210 pp. + 8 illus. $60.00. Review by Your Name, University.

Once you have submitted the review, the book will become your property.

Timely reviews are a service to authors and publishers. The deadline for the Spring-Summer issue is March 15th; for the Fall-Winter issue, October 15th.
