STC is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. It is the largest organization of its type in the world. Its 25,000 members include technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, Web designers and developers, and translators - anyone whose work makes technical information available to those who need it.

The College Station Student Chapter was created to serve as the link to the professional world for students interested in technical communication, and is open to all interested students. While the College Station Student Chapter of STC is no longer a TAMU recognized group, it still has ties to the English Department and Writing Programs Office.

Interested in joining? Membership in our chapter gives you full student membership in the national chapter, including professional publications and access to the national job board and national STC student listserv. It also gives you full membership in the student chapter, including access to the ATC Lab and all chapter events, as well as membership on the chapter listserv (which posts local full and parttime job announcements).
